Events of the era or time period when the piece was composed
Style of the piece (i.e. folk song, fugue, spiritual)
Text (its origins, how it fits the piece)
Accompaniment, if any
Interesting fact(s) about the piece-what makes it unique?
Personal thoughts or experiences with the piece
